Welcoming Gwen Taylor to LHBM Legacy!
We are excited to share that Gwen Taylor has joined us under contract as our Director of Organizational Support. In just a short time, Gwen has already made an impressionable impact on both myself and Taylor, and we know her leadership will help LHBM continue to grow in powerful ways.
Here are Gwen’s own words about the work she brings to this role:
“I bring nearly two decades of leadership and a lifetime of lived perspective to my work in youth programming, mentorship, and community healing. I am known for building relationship-centered systems that strengthen organizations from the inside out and create environments where both staff and youth feel safe, seen, and supported.”
“Across my career, I’ve led initiatives in nonprofits, AmeriCorps, schools, and camps—always centering equity, trauma-informed practices, and the voices of those most impacted. My work has guided staff development, curriculum design, performance systems, and organizational restructuring, aligning operations with values of safety, belonging, and growth.”
“As a multiracial mother and foster sister with a background in social work, I’ve had firsthand experience navigating neurodivergence, health and disability services, and layered identities within my own family. These experiences give me unique insight into the challenges families face—and the resilience and support required to overcome them.”
We are grateful for Gwen’s presence and look forward to the impact she will have on our staff, programs, and community. Please join us in welcoming Gwen to the LHBM family!

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY: PHILIP “BIG PHIL” KINJERSKI
Family. Faith. Legacy.
That’s what LHBM stands on — and today is a full-circle moment. I’ve known Phil for a long time. My twin brother and I started coming up to Wisconsin around the age of six every summer. We stayed with the Reniers family, and her sister’s kids — Phil, Ryan, and Katie Kinjerski — became our summer crew. Every year, those bonds grew stronger. Through the years, Phil and I built memories together — from trips to the Dells to working downtown at Haggenmeister’s. He’s seen me at different stages of life — he’s watched me grow, change, and become who I am today.
For those who know me — whether you’re from Jackson, Lexington, or New Franken — you’ve witnessed that transformation. You’ve seen the man I was and the man I’ve become.
So this right here? It’s more than just a welcome post. It’s family. It’s faith. It’s legacy in motion. That’s why it’s such an honor to welcome my brother, Philip “Big Phil” Kinjerski, to the LHBM Legacy family. Not only does Phil embody everything we stand for — love, transparency, authenticity, and purpose — but he also brings his heart for service into his work. Phil will be handling all of our Manitowoc clients and cases, ensuring every family and youth we connect with receives the care, consistency, and compassion that define LHBM. At LHBM, we’re not just building a program — we’re building a family. We may not all look alike or come from the same background, but every person connected to this mission shares one truth: We love our youth. We believe in community. We move with heart.
⸻
From Big Phil Himself:
“Family and God come first. Being resilient in the face of the unknown has taught me to seek understanding. Life has given me blessings and taken them away — but through it all, I’ve learned that giving back is the greatest gift.My goal is to help propel this community by starting with the youth. Sharing and caring have always been blessings to receive, and I want others to feel that same blessing — even when they don’t have the resources.”
— Philip “Big Phil” Kinjerski
Welcome home, Big Phil.

Welcoming Laila Cruz to LHBM Legacy!
We are proud to announce that Laila Cruz has joined our team as the CCS Lead for the Lakeshore. Laila comes to us with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Green Bay, and in such a short period of time she has already proven herself to be a young woman who rises above challenges to help those in need.
We believe Laila is going to transform our CCS programs, and we are excited for the impact she will have on our youth, families, and community.
Here are Laila’s own words about her journey:
“My journey with Little Hearts Big Minds (LHBM) Legacy LLC is driven by my passion for mental health and my belief in the power of guidance, compassion, and resilience. I recently earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and plan to pursue a master’s in Social Work to expand the ways I can support others.”
“Before joining LHBM, I worked as a Mental Health Technician, where I supported youth through their challenges and growth. That role gave me firsthand experience walking alongside young people and showed me the incredible impact of patience, encouragement, and empowerment.”
“I am honored to continue this work with an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering our youth while helping to build brighter futures!”
We’re grateful to have Laila on the team and can’t wait to see her leadership flourish in Lakeshore.

Meet Angela Sallinen — A Heart for Others, A Champion for Youth
At LHBM, we believe the right people make all the difference.
That’s why we’re honored to welcome Angela Sallinen, who officially joins our team in mid-August!
Angela brings a spirit of compassion, integrity, and quiet leadership to everything she does. She’s a proud mom (her favorite title!), a skilled professional in accounting, and someone who consistently shows up for others — especially youth and those in need of care.
Her journey of service includes volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Miracle League, both of which left a profound impact on her. In 2020, she became a certified crisis counselor and began supporting others through the Crisis Text Line, offering presence and guidance in people’s most vulnerable moments.
Angela shares:
“I’ve always felt a pull to guide and protect others, especially our youth and most vulnerable. I think everyone deserves someone who believes in them and who can help them see how wonderful and capable they are.”
In her free time, you’ll find Angela surrounded by her favorite people — her husband, son, two dogs, and a close circle of family and friends.
Angela, we’re grateful for your heart, your voice, and the wisdom you bring to LHBM.
We can’t wait for the community to meet you.

LHBM LEGACY LLC WELCOMES KING GREEN
I started coming to Wisconsin every summer as a kid, and one of my earliest memories was sitting in King’s Barbershop — one of the first Black-owned barbershops in Green Bay. King’s father, Al Green, wasn’t just a barber; he was a mentor, a community leader, and a voice of authenticity and love for his younger clients. Over the years, through countless conversations in that chair, Al helped shape the man I would become.
So today, it’s an honor and a blessing to welcome his son, King Green, to LHBM Legacy LLC.
King joins our team as one of our rehab-level workers, serving Kewaunee and Shawano Counties. He brings passion, integrity, and a deep sense of purpose to this work — qualities that have been in his family for generations.
In his own words:
“Basketball and music have shaped me into the man I am today, teaching me discipline, leadership, and purpose. As a player, coach, and trainer, I’ve learned that success is about growth and character, not just wins, and my time as a youth mentor has shown me the power of guiding others to believe in themselves.
For 14 years, I’ve served as the drummer at my family’s church, where faith and rhythm taught me consistency and patience, later inspiring my journey as a beat maker who uses music to tell stories that connect and uplift.
The men in my life—especially my father and grandfather—instilled in me hard work, integrity, and faith, shaping the foundation I stand on today.
Working with LHBM Legacy LLC allows me to carry that legacy forward by mentoring young men, helping them build confidence, discipline, and purpose as they discover the greatness within themselves.”
Welcome to the team, King
This is full circle — legacy in motion

Welcome Jessica Mock to the LHBM Legacy Team!
We’re honored to welcome Jessica Mock as the newest member of our LHBM Legacy family! Jessica will be stepping into the role of Team Lead for our Rehab-Level Workers within the CCS team, serving youth and families throughout Rock, Jefferson, and Walworth Counties.
With over 13 years of experience as a dedicated middle school teacher in the School District of Janesville, Jessica has committed her life to supporting young people inside and outside the classroom. Her passion for helping others reach their full potential resonates deeply with our mission.
"When I learned about the LHBM Legacy Organization, I was inspired by its heartfelt dedication to giving back to our community through programs that meet people where they are and provide a nurturing environment for personal growth. I’m excited to join an organization that shares my values, and I look forward to contributing to my community in new and meaningful ways."
— Jessica Mock
Jessica’s leadership, compassion, and educational background will be key as we continue creating spaces of healing, growth, and resilience across the counties we serve.
Please join us in giving Jessica a heartfelt welcome to the team!

This addition to the LHBM family is extra special — Taylor’s sister, Lacy, has officially joined our team!
Lacy brings with her over 12 years of childcare experience and a lifelong passion for working with at-risk youth and families. From a young age, she dreamed of becoming a social worker and began studying criminal justice to pursue that path. At 21, her greatest dream came true when she became a mother, and she chose to put her career goals on hold to raise her children—Jayda (21), Tucker (18), and Mela (4)—with love and dedication.
Alongside motherhood, Lacy worked in childcare right out of high school and has always been deeply involved in her children’s lives—coaching sports, volunteering at schools, attending classroom activities, and chaperoning every field trip. Those experiences not only enriched her family’s life but also gave her valuable knowledge and perspective on how to support and connect with young people.
Now, stepping into her role as a rehab-level worker with LHBM, Lacy is fulfilling a lifelong dream while living out her purpose. She believes that “when we are passionate about something, it naturally becomes our purpose.” Guided by that belief, she is committed to helping children and families grow, heal, learn, and gain confidence—always leading with love ♥︎
Lacy strongly believes that children are our future. She feels incredibly blessed to be part of such a meaningful program and is ready to pour her heart, experience, and dedication into the lives of those she serves at LHBM.

Welcome Larry “Larro” Coleman to the LHBM Family
I’ve known Larry for almost five years, and I can truly say he’s like a brother to me. Everything I’ve wanted to do within LHBM since the jump — he’s believed in that mission, that vision, and encouraged me to keep going no matter how tough things were.
That’s a true testament to his commitment to growth and legacy.
Now, it’s only right that we officially welcome him to the LHBM family. Here’s his story — in his own words and heart:
Larry Coleman is one of our mentors who brings understanding, compassion, and real-life perspective to his work with our youth. Growing up in Chicago, Larry witnessed the challenges that come with limited resources and little to no positive influences. After moving to Green Bay, he saw how different life could be — how kids here have opportunities that many back home didn’t, and how much of a difference the right guidance from someone with real experience can make.
That realization became the reason behind his passion for giving his energy to the youth.
“I want to be the type of influence that I wish I could have had when I was a kid.”
Larry’s goal is to help youth see the value in their choices, believe in themselves, and realize they have the power to shape their own paths.
With years of experience working with youth in educational settings and helping young adults developing life skills — along with a background in coaching basketball and behavioral support.
— Larry’s approach is rooted in patience, empathy, and respect.
He strives to create a safe space where young people can grow into their full potential.
Larry is also currently pursuing a degree in Business Management with a 3.8 GPA, continuing to develop his leadership skills to better serve his community and the youth he works with.
We’re blessed and proud to have him join the team — a mentor, leader, and true example of what it means to build Legacy.

Introducing Rashad White:
At LHBM Legacy, we believe the right mentors can spark a lasting change in the lives of young people. Rashad White is someone who embodies that belief every day. Whether it’s on the court or in the community, Rashad consistently shows up for student athletes in Green Bay, modeling what it means to lead with both skill and heart. His presence and guidance make him a true mentor-leader, capable of inspiring the next generation to think differently about themselves and their futures.
Why Rashad Chose LHBM
In Rashad’s own words:
“I chose to work with LHBM because, not only is it a great opportunity, but it’s a career and company I can see myself growing with. I previously coached youth basketball at both the high school and elementary levels. I love working with kids and being able to see them grow through the time I’ve spent with them. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and feel that I am a great fit for this job due to my backgrounds.”
A Mentor Making a Difference!
Rashad brings experience, passion, and a deep commitment to youth. His journey as a coach has already shaped countless young athletes, and now, as part of the LHBM team, his impact will continue to grow. We’re proud to have him as part of our mission: “Where Love Leads.”

LHBM Legacy Family — Meet Amber:
Amber Perez is already walking in her purpose. She’s currently pursuing a degree in Special Education and has hands-on experience as a Special Ed Paraprofessional. She brings heart, wisdom, and lived experience to every room she enters. Her journey hasn’t been easy, but she’s used her story as fuel—not a crutch. Amber’s already impacting lives, and I’m excited to have her grow within our company and within this field.
*Amber Perez is a dedicated and compassionate individual currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. With a background as a Special Education Paraprofessional, Amber has gained hands-on experience working with troubled youth and students with behavioral needs—providing support, guidance, and creating lasting bonds and safe spaces for those facing everyday challenges.
Drawing from her own experiences of overcoming a difficult childhood, Amber is deeply motivated to use her unique perspective and educational training to become the best mentor she can be. Committed to making a positive impact, she strives to empower students to reach their full potential—not only in their educational journey but in life.
Please help me welcome Amber to the team!

LHBM Legacy Family — Meet Sam!
This one hits home for me…
Sam Hemery has been like a little brother to me for years. I’ve watched him put in the work—day in and day out—with no excuses, no shortcuts, just pure dedication. He comes from a strong, loving family with amazing parents and a big brother, Jack, who's always had his back. Sam didn’t grow up in hardship—he grew up in a household built on values, character, and love. And still, he grinds like someone with everything to prove. That’s the part that inspires me the most.
Now, Sam’s taking his talents to Rochester Community and Technical College to play basketball, and while I’m proud of that—what really moves me is that he’s choosing to give back. He understands how important it is for young men to have someone in their corner, and he's stepping up to be that for others. He’ll always have a place at LHBM—every summer he’s home, and one day when he returns with his degree. That’s how legacy works.
*My name is Sam Hemery, a proud Class of 2025 graduate from Green Bay West High School and a dedicated student-athlete. I've been playing basketball and football for years, and I’m excited to continue my athletic journey playing basketball at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota. My long-term goal is to pursue a career in education and work closely with youth.
Mentoring young and upcoming men is a powerful way for me to help guide them down the right path—especially because I’ve witnessed people close to me take the wrong one. I believe many kids have greatness in them, but they often learn from the wrong adults or, sadly, have no one to learn from at all.
As a Mentor with LHBM Legacy, I want to be that positive presence—someone they can look up to, trust, and grow with. My mission is to offer real leadership and guidance to help our youth build a bright and successful future.
I’m incredibly blessed and excited for this opportunity—and I can’t wait to get started

Meet Brandon Wilson – A True Champion in the Making
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Brandon and his family since he was in middle school. From day one, he’s shown heart, talent, and determination. As an athlete, I’ve coached him for years and watched him grow into a young man with incredible discipline and purpose. We've had a lot of success together—on the field, on the court, and now in our mentoring program before he heads off to college this fall.
When we say we’re here to uplift and empower our youth—this is exactly what we mean. Brandon is the kind of role model our young people need.
Here’s a message from Brandon in his own words:
“My name is Brandon Wilson. I am a proud Class of 2025 graduate from Green Bay West High School. I am a very committed student-athlete. I’ve played basketball and football my entire life, and I am very grateful and blessed to be able to continue my athletic journey playing basketball at Rochester Community Technical College in Minnesota. A long-term goal I have is to follow God’s path and become an athletic trainer so I can still involve myself with sports.
As a mentor with LHBM Legacy, I want to become that big brother that the clients can talk to about anything, and I would support them. My goal is to lead and make sure my clients are moving in the right direction for their future success! I am very excited and blessed to be given this opportunity and can’t wait to get started!”
Welcome to the LHBM Legacy team, Brandon! Let’s keep building, growing, and leading the way for our youth.
